Ramadan dress code

Ramadan is a time of reflection charity, ethics, good deeds, growth in our faith, and a way to come closer to Allah.

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, many people take it as an opportunity to update their looks and clothes with modest and fashionable items that adhere to the Islamic dress code and teachings.

The Islamic dress code, also known as hijab, requires that women cover their bodies with loose-fitting clothing that should not cling tightly to the body and should not be transparent. This includes items such as maxi dresses, trousers, and as much as possible to cover the body. Depending on the origin or interpretation of this dress code, women may choose items such as brightly colored Abaya, and colored headscarves, which add a beautiful and elegant touch.

Missi worn bisht

Arabic Bisht is not only for men

On his way to the podium, in The 2022 FIFA World Cup Final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar on December 18,  the legendary, Lionel Messi, was given a Bisht- which is a black item of clothing- by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Then, he wrapped the piece of clothing around his shoulders and walked over to his Argentine teammates to celebrate their win.

What is the Bisht?

A Bisht is a traditional men’s cloak popular in the Arab world. This abaya is a garment that symbolizes nobility, dignity, and honor.

It has been worn in the Arab world for thousands of years.

When Messi had this gift that means the Arabs dignified their guest. It is a sign of gratitude. It is an honor that marks him as the legend that he is!

While not everyone liked what happened, it was a highlight of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final and isn’t so different from when Pele wore a Mexican hat in 1970.

Who can wear Bisht?

It is usually worn by officials, senior statesmen, royalty, and religious leaders, including tribal Sheikhs , kings, and imams. It is a status garment, associated with royalty, religious position, wealth, and ceremonial occasions.

The Bisht is a robe made of camel hair and goat wool. It is usually worn in the Arab world on special occasions such as the Jumah prayer, the Janazah prayer, weddings, and Eid.

Bisht for women too!

Usually, Gulf women choose Bisht abayas, because they are both comfortable and eye-catching designs at the same time.

This style of clothing is one of the favorite fashion models for Arab women, as it is worn in the style of an open abaya – kimono over a long and modest dress, which may be designed from transparent or chiffon fabric, or from different types of fabric.

If you want to get an elegant look with a Gulf touch that preserves the traditional style, we have chosen for you several distinguished models from Khood Fashion designers, so you can match them with different pieces of your choice.

El Gouna Film Festival

The El Gouna Film Festival (GFF ‎) is an annual nine-day event film festival established in 2017 by the CEO and co-founder of the festival Amr Mansi. Inspired by El Gouna’s diverse culture and picturesque environment, GFF is held in the midst of a groundbreaking cultural hub and the spectacular structure of the Gouna Conference and Cultural Center in the Red Sea resort town of El GounaEgypt.

The festival is a creative event aims to support Egyptian and Arab talents and to enhance business opportunities for the Arab cinema where a wide range of meetings will be organized between Arab and international film artists, filmmakers, directors, producers, and distributors. In addition, the event will present round-tables, workshops, red carpet, opening ceremony, screenings and panel discussions.

El Gouna Film Festival has become the most important starry industry event in Egypt and for the Middle East. It ups Egypt’s film industry game, and set El Gouna as the uncontested art destination in the region.

The festival presents a selection of the newest films from around the globe, and the festival gives special attention to films with humanitarian content. Also in a Special Presentations section iconic films from the past that continue to be cherished by film-loving audiences are screened.

After four consecutive editions the sentiment still echoes throughout every year more and more. Even with the tight anti-COVID-19 preventive measures in place the fourth edition of ElGouna Festival was done, the red carpet was designed in a way that helped maintain social distancing, with the festival’s opening ceremony held in a new location that is twice bigger than the one used in the past three editions.  El Gouna Film Festival renews its pledge to nurture and support the art of cinema for the 5th year in a row. The 5th edition of CineGouna Platform is scheduled to take place, October 16-21, 2021 in the resort town of El Gouna.

While it’s the place to celebrate the very best of Arab cinema, it’s also one of our favorite events to see the latest looks from Middle Eastern fashion designers where their styles become trends. The festival gives young designers and small brands the opportunity to have a platform to get their name put on the world stage with film stars wearing their creations.

Each year people wait for the festival to see the actresses’ dresses and looks, for that actresses try to be creative with their looks as much as they can, a lot of them succeed in this mission and glowed in the festival, here are some of the best looks:

– Actress Tara Emad in a black dress by Deana Shaban in ElGouna Festival 2020

– Actress Salma Abu Deif in a white silk dress by Naeem Khan in ElGouna Festival 2020

But unfortunately not all the actresses and celebrities were lucky with their choices and looks many went too far trying to prove their uniqueness, here are some of the unlucky looks that were seen in the Gouna’s festival:

– Kenzy Abdallah Asser Yassin’s wife in a dress by Farida Temraz in El Gouna Festival 2020

– Actress Laila Elwi in a yellow dress by Hany El Behairy in El Gouna Festival 2020

– Maha Al Sagheer Ahmed Al Sakka’s wife in a pink dress by Christopher Frakin in El Gouna Festival 2020

The 75th Celebrate of Jordan Independence Day

The independence of Jordan came as a result of the London treaty between Emir Abdullah and the British Government, the treaty was signed on 22 March 1946, and it took two years for Jordan to be fully independent till March 1948.

The United Nations approved the end of the British Mandate in . From then on, Transjordan was renamed and became known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan and King Abdullah 1 became the king of Jordan. After that the name of the emirate changed to Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

– How is the Independence Day in Jordan?

We have a public holiday annually on 25 May to celebrate Jordan’s independence and most businesses are closed, the holiday is usually marked with official ceremonies including a fireworks display, religious event and other activities, it is attended by members of the House of Hashim , as well as civil and military officials.

The national flag is displayed on buildings, homes and cars to mark this significant day. Unfortunately this year due to COVID pandemic celebrations of this anniversary and gatherings won’t be held this year.

– How the Royal Family Celebrates?

The Royal Family celebrates this day by  making a ceremony in the Cultural Palace in Amman to honor the occasion, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania, His Majesty King Abdullah, Crown Prince Hussein, Prince Hashem, Princess Iman and Princess Salma, as well as others from the royal family members, senior officials, politicians, diplomats and army officers.

Queen Rania, every time in Independence Day celebrations takes the traditional chic looks , by wearing a gorgeous Kaftans and dresses with Jordanian or Palestinian embroidery ,Queen Rania is regularly spotted in local designers.

Queen Rania has tweeted on Twitter last year due to COVID-19 circumstances that: “The ‘way’ we celebrate Independence Day may change, but the ‘why’ remains constant; it’s the love we hold for our country and the commitment of its people to keep it safe and strong. God bless Jordan, its people and its leadership!” , COVID circumstances are still continuing this year too, but as our queen has said this won’t change the love we have in our hearts for our country. Let’s hope next year this pandemic will end and we will celebrate this special day safely.

– What is the role of King Abdullah II in Jordan’s safety?

In his two decades on the throne, Jordan’s King Abdullah II has faced almost constant challenges to the stability and prosperity of the kingdom, just as his father Hussein did for the half-century of his rule. This emphasizes the characteristic strength of the Hashemites.

King Abdullah has done a lot of things to develop Jordan’s security. He has developed rehabilitation, preventive development against crime, and security centers to the highest levels of professionalism to serve the people. All the accomplishments that King Abdullah has done made Jordan a country that attracts people and tourists from all over the world because it’s a safe country.

Tips to celebrate Eid 2021

Eid Al Fiter is an occasion of joy and festivity for all Muslims for breaking their fast, also it marks the end of Ramadan.

It is common for the capitals of Muslim-majority countries to decorate their streets with festive lights. You can also create that Eid vibe in your home by filling it with Eid decorations, make sure you get your children involved, because the more you involve your kids with the Eid preparations, the more they will feel the spirit of this occasion.

Some of the Eid preparations are universal among all Muslims. Wearing new clothes is one of them. Clothes are an important marker of Eid. Whether people choose to wear traditional or modern western clothes, all must be well turned-out. In the days leading up to Eid, we used to see shopping centers overflowing with shoppers looking out for the latest and greatest fashion trends, but now because of Corona pandemic most of the shopping centers in the world are closed and even if they’re open it is not safe to be there, and because of the current circumstances due to Corona pandemic online shopping will save the situation.

Visiting relatives and neighbors’ houses and accepting sweets while moving around from house to house, is another part of Eid preparations, but also these visits won’t happen this Eid because of the pandemic. Eid this year won’t be the same, so we will have to create the atmosphere of Eid celebrations in a different way, even if a lot of countries are in lock-down, it doesn’t mean we can’t look our best for Eid.

All the fun areas for kids are closed so we should create the Eid’s atmosphere for them on our own, by doing home and family activities like playing together the games they love , cooking together and making BBQ gatherings for example, also we can buy them gifts to surprise them, we can order these gifts online. A great idea for a gift would be buying your daughters the same outfit as yours, cause daughters are always looking at their mother’s clothes, they will be so happy and it is also so trendy this year, you can find the daughter mother matching clothes at Khood’s website.

You all know that Eid is coming in the summer season and in summer everyone loves to wear light clothes like dresses and kaftans, also because of the circumstances we will spend most of this Eid’s time at home so we need comfortable clothes, keep in mind while choosing your Eid outfit to pick light colors that match with summer colors, you can check Khood’s website there is a lot of varieties that you will like.

This Eid will be an opportunity to bring some light into this period of darkness.
