The 75th Celebrate of Jordan Independence Day

The independence of Jordan came as a result of the London treaty between Emir Abdullah and the British Government, the treaty was signed on 22 March 1946, and it took two years for Jordan to be fully independent till March 1948.

The United Nations approved the end of the British Mandate in . From then on, Transjordan was renamed and became known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan and King Abdullah 1 became the king of Jordan. After that the name of the emirate changed to Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

– How is the Independence Day in Jordan?

We have a public holiday annually on 25 May to celebrate Jordan’s independence and most businesses are closed, the holiday is usually marked with official ceremonies including a fireworks display, religious event and other activities, it is attended by members of the House of Hashim , as well as civil and military officials.

The national flag is displayed on buildings, homes and cars to mark this significant day. Unfortunately this year due to COVID pandemic celebrations of this anniversary and gatherings won’t be held this year.

 

– How the Royal Family Celebrates?

 

The Royal Family celebrates this day by  making a ceremony in the Cultural Palace in Amman to honor the occasion, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania, His Majesty King Abdullah, Crown Prince Hussein, Prince Hashem, Princess Iman and Princess Salma, as well as others from the royal family members, senior officials, politicians, diplomats and army officers.

Queen Rania, every time in Independence Day celebrations takes the traditional chic looks , by wearing a gorgeous Kaftans and dresses with Jordanian or Palestinian embroidery ,Queen Rania is regularly spotted in local designers.

 

Queen Rania has tweeted on Twitter last year due to COVID-19 circumstances that: “The ‘way’ we celebrate Independence Day may change, but the ‘why’ remains constant; it’s the love we hold for our country and the commitment of its people to keep it safe and strong. God bless Jordan, its people and its leadership!” , COVID circumstances are still continuing this year too, but as our queen has said this won’t change the love we have in our hearts for our country. Let’s hope next year this pandemic will end and we will celebrate this special day safely.

He has developed rehabilitation, preventive development against crime, and security centers to the highest levels of professionalism to serve the people. All the accomplishments that King Abdullah has done made Jordan a country that attracts people and tourists from all over the world because it’s a safe country.
