Modest fashion dominated the Milan shows

The concept of modest fashion no longer refers to a culture, religion or race, but rather it is more comprehensive.

It is a personal taste and a sense of comfort and practicality that suits women in different cultures, which made the most important fashion brands focus on modest looks in their presentations at Milan Fashion Week.

Due to the tendency of many women to wear what is far from nudity and close to modesty, this season’s shows are filled with modest fashion for those who are keen on modest elegance.

These are the most modest looks from Milan Fashion Week:

The see through fabrics and the chiffon

As in the London and New York Fashion Weeks, transparent fabrics also topped the various designs in Milan.

Despite the difficulty of choosing them in many designs, their varied coordination made some looks appropriate, some of them relied completely on transparent fabric and narrow chiffon skirts. Many of them used transparent fabric over the basic pieces, making them more suitable for a diversity of tastes.

The Big Four Fashion Week

The Big Four Fashion Week

How many Fashion Weeks are in a year?

Each fashion week is usually held twice a year for women’s fashion, one for the fall and winter fashion shows, which takes place between February and March.

he other in September and October for the summer and spring fashion shows.

As for the men’s fashion shows, the fashion weeks are held in Milan and then Paris in January for the fall and winter collections, and in June for the summer and spring collections.

In succession, the Big Four Fashion Weeks begin in New York, then continue in London and Milan, before they end in Paris.

The Big Four Fashion Weeks

Paris fashion week

It is unknown when the first Paris Fashion Week was named. Actually Paris Fashion Week was held in the early 1940s.Paris, the city of lights, is closely related to fashion. However, the event itself was organized and held annually under the name of fashion Press Week.

The first fashion week in Paris as we know it today was in 1973. It was a result of the continuing tug of rub between New York and Paris, and the show was held in the Palace of Versailles.

New York Fashion Week

In 1943, in an attempt to draw attention to American fashion designers and enhance their position.

Journalist Eleanor Lambert took advantage of World War II, and the difficulty of holding fashion shows in France, so she invited journalists to New York where fashion shows organize.  It was announced that ‘Press Week’ was coming to the city.

The fashion shows reached 53 shows, held at the Plaza Hotel, and was a successful week par excellence.

In 1944, the first official New York Fashion Week calendar was launched, bringing together the events of Fashion Week into one comprehensive guide for everyone interested in the fashion and fashion industry.

From then until now, New York Week has continued to be held twice, one in February and in September each year.

Milan Fashion Week

As in New York, Italian aristocrat Giovanni Battista Giorgini was inspired by the success of Lambert and the success of the new concept of Fashion Week. So, he took the opportunity to invite the national press to display the season’s collections in 1952.

Giovanni organized a series of shows at the famous Palazzo Pitti in Florence.

Italian fashion has taken center stage in the fashion world, as famous designers. such as Emilio Pucci and Missoni, have found an exciting new platform for their designs.

Nearly two decades later, the huge success of Florence Fashion Week has exceeded the capacity of any place, even the city’s small airport can no longer accommodate visitors from all over the world. So, it decided to move it to Milan in 1958, and held twice a year.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week started rather late. In 1984 the first fashion week took place in the car park of the Commonwealth Institute in Kensington, west London.

It was supported by Vogue UK to get the British government to agree to sponsor the event and to organize the British Fashion Council,

where designers such as John Galliano and Betty Jackson rose to prominence on the fashion scene. This week was credited with giving a huge boost and a real catalyst for British designers, brands and models.

So far, London Fashion Week has been organized by the British Fashion Council with a number of scheduled shows that aimed to discover new talents There are also unscheduled events aimed to discover new talents allowing them to appear in London Week without paying money for that.
